NETTIE-OLOGY: The world should not be defining who Christians are or how they should act.

An anonymous person on YouTube once accused me of creating my own doctrine because I referred to a video as “Nettie-ology” I also mention in my video that “this is just my opinion”. Apparently some people think I am telling a person what to believe, no one should be allowed to tell anyone what to believe. Nettie-ology is the presentation of my opinion and it is up to the reader to accept or reject what I am saying. I explained this to “anonymous” but the individual remained offended- oh well!

I rebel against the popular opinion as to how I should look. God and my husband see me naked no one else needs to see what my lumps and bumps. I do own wigs, and I have been known to wear a weave but most of the time I wear a scarf over my natural hair because it is comfortable.

When my husband and I go out, or I have to go out into the public I find the reactions of people interesting, they are surprised.  I don’t dress trendy but I do present myself in what many would declare “appropriate”. (Side note: I think this is why Liberals have a problem with Mrs. Melania Trump, she is stylish but not trendy compared to Mrs. Michelle Obama who tried to be trendy.) I dress ‘nice’ but I dress according to my personal style: conservative. Once upon a time I tried to be trendy and I hated it.

It is not just clothing that have been defining other people, clothing is the most obvious. I often talk about voting my faith to which there are those who say, without understanding, “separation of church and state”. Though it is true the government cannot set up a church it is not true that I cannot vote the type of government leaders I want in office. If a person believes in the infallible word of GOD he or she should not vote for those who support: abortion, same sex unions, euthanasia, anti-Israel legislation or pro-Muslim prayers in the House of YHWH. Unfortunately, many Christians are allowing the world to define who they are and how they should act.

 He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not. 

An interesting verse. Yeshua, was not like everyone else. Many knew Him as the Carpenter’s son and they did not understand this aspect of His identity: the Creator. “The world knew HIM not”, just as the world will not understand the GOD in you.

Your purpose is from Eloheem if Yeshua Hamashiach is Lord of your life. Those who have submitted to the Word are enemies of the world and therefor should not be allowing the world to define who they are or are not.

JOHN 14:16-17
And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—  the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

The world does not have permission to define what you should and should not believe. It is not just how you dress, though wearing provocative clothes should be a clue as to what you really believe. When you support abortion because you accept the world’s theory that it is a woman’s choice you have made a decision to reject the word (Judges 16:17, Psalm 22:10, Jeremiah 1:5 and many more). You can love a person who is a practicing homosexual however to accept the life style as normal is to declare the Word of God as flawed (Genesis 1:27, Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:5, and many more). To accept the ways of the world is to reject the ways of YHWH.

When you surround yourself with worldly people it is difficult to live a life that is pleasing to Abba. Unfortunately, the churches today are not in agreement with each other. This is why it is important for you to prayerfully study, not read in a year, Scripture. There are places in which you can gather with like believers, they are not in the traditional places you would normally look.

MATTHEW 7:7-8
 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

YHWH has not given the world permission to influence His children. If you are living as the world then it is a personal choice and like the world you will experience the consequences of your actions.

 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 

I submit to you reader: The words of Yeshua are not just about what happens when you die and try to enter heaven but as you pray today. Your tithes and your offerings, even your church service are irrelevant because they are not recognized by Yeshua. You gave the world, Satan, access to your life by agreeing with the world.

NETTIE-ISM: A WOMAN OF GOD

The following is part of an upcoming book in which I will discuss my observations and opinions on what it means to be a woman of God. 

NETTIE-ISM: It isn’t easy to be a woman of God when the things around you want you to raise hell!

There are two Bible teachings that I have resisted based on what others taught: Psalm 23 and Proverb 31. It took years of unlearning what tradition had taught, and the help of one Teacher who explained Proverbs 31 from the beginning. Fortunately, I have never heard Titus 2:1-5 taught.

The Spirit showed me verse 3 and 4: “the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things— that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children? (NKJV)” And it was the Spirit that helped me understand that I could do this because Yeshua is my Shepherd and He has lead me to where I should go (Psalms 23:1,3). Unfortunately, there are many church leaders who may agree with me in theory disagree with me according to their personal principles.

It is this lack of agreement, among my fellow believers, that actually directed me to the Lord my Shepherd who over a period of time revealed to me truths found in Scripture. I want to be a godly woman; I want to do things that please Him, but it is difficult when people and circumstances are pulling you in a direction that would not please Him but satisfy your flesh.

TITUS 2:1-5 THE VOICE
As to you, Titus: talk to them; give them a good, healthy diet of solid teaching so they will know the right way to live. Here’s what I want you to teach the older men: enjoy everything in moderation, respect yourselves and others, be sensible, and dedicate yourselves to living an unbroken faith demonstrated by your love and perseverance. And here’s what I want you to teach the older women: Be respectful. Steer clear of gossip or drinking too much so that you can teach what is good to young women. Be a positive example, showing them what it is to love their husbands and children, and teaching them to control themselves in every way and to be pure. Train them to manage the household, to be kind, and to be submissive to their husbands, all of which honor the word of God.

I am tempted to share three translations of Titus 2:1-5, The New King James Version, The Expanded Bible Version and The Voice; I chose the later because it is easier to understand but I often read The New King James Version.

I am writing a book on the Titus woman, I have been doing so for years. I want the reader to apply the words that I write to her life but I must be careful not to get to personal. I feel that I am qualified to write such truths one because of my GOD given gift as a Prophetic Scribe and second because I understand:  It isn’t easy to be a woman of God when the things around you tempt you to raise hell!

I am not there but I am very close. I believe becoming a woman after GOD’s heart is easy, living a godly life when you are married to someone who has been taught to live the traditions of man and not necessarily the Word of YHWH requires diplomacy and the squashing of the flesh. Scripture is not silent in regards to  the power and purpose of a woman, I have been exploring this for decades now and I have just scratched the surface.       written by Marsha L F Randolph

REJECTING RELIGIOSITY

NETTIEOLOGY- People are not listening to church leaders in mega-doses!

I know my world does not reflect the masses number of people in the galaxy. However, I have a natural curiosity and the ability to develop conversations with strangers. My opinions are just that my opinions but so far no one has been able to disprove what I think.

There are young people 35 and under are not devout church goers even though they were raised by parents who attended regularly. These young people believe there is a God and they know of Jesus and they search for Him- in all the wrong places. A few that I talk to refuse to go to church.

There are people who believe in YHWH, believe Yeshuah Hamashiach is who Scripture says He is but reject the message from the pulpit and I don’t blame them. I personally do not want my church leader giving me a weekly motivational speech, coffee and donuts are fine but cannot get me into heaven or hell and I really do not need a change of scenery with every new message. Footnote: I do like bringing my own Bible to church and I would like to learn the songs I sing. There are people who think the same as I do.

Sometimes I think Pastors are in competition with each other: He who dies with the biggest building wins!

Lately, I have been meeting people who have a desire to live a great life: wife, children, good health and safe home. These young adults work hard, go on vacations regularly and are committed to being the best person they can be yet they will not go to any of the different churches in their neighborhood. These individuals want a personal relationship with YHWH not church ideology.

Perhaps the church is insulting the intelligence of the people. Perhaps the church has become to much like the clubs these young people no longer frequent. Perhaps the list of dos and don’t have become confusing because what one church says is OK another says is not OK. Perhaps the church is not addressing the real needs of the individual.

I think it is the latter. A motivational speech is good to get you out of your slump but it will not stop you from going back in. Teaching biblical principles from the Bible and not from what was learned in Seminary is what many want to hear. How do young people address the current environment that promotes abortions without parent consent and men dressed as women reading to their children? What does the Bible say about a child being attacked verbally and or physically for wearing a pro-Trump item when the person committing the offense is one of authority? A message that declares: “It is going to get better!” Is not what they want to hear.

THE REAL RACIST

NETTIE-OLOGY 101: Prejudice is growing in America and I am sick of it!

I see prejudice all around me. It is prejudice not racism that is the problem. When I was growing up we were taught that pre-judging a person before you got to know them was prejudice. Yes there are prejudices based on race but there are also some that are based on religion and sexual orientation. New words were created to increase the divisions among the people: racism, sexism and homophobia- “isms” are not the problem.

When I discuss socio-economic issues with African-Americans: employment, housing, education, and even health care, deficiencies in access to needs are more often than not (among Democrats) blamed on someone else. When I travel up north, among other people of color, I hear complaints about White people being the problem more so than any other pigment. When I am socializing with African-Americans here in Florida, Cubans are the problem, even though not everyone that speaks Spanish is from Cuba. It is a predetermined conclusion not based on facts.  I have heard the same complaints for over 20 years, which is how long I have lived in South Florida and visited friends and family in the north.

What fuels this ignorance? It is not just politicians but generational ignorance and feel good church messages facilitate the promotion of such ignorance. It is neither White people nor Spanish speaking people that have stopped those people of color from succeeding, in fact many are very successful despite their rhetoric.

The church has become a place for people to fulfill their godly obligations and develop superficial relationships with others. Churches increase in population and size, a place where people gather and are motivated but I question if YHWH’s Truths are really taught.   Many of today’s churches do not teach the wrongs of abortion, homosexuality or other sexual perversions; it is this silence that creates a division of those who study Scripture and those who just want to hear “Yes you can!” Thus, even in the House of God there are prejudices: who is holier than whom. If you sit in the back of a church you will see the unintentional segregation of it’s members, by culture, community and even pigment.

How many traditional church leaders will tell their members to invest in a book before investing in the building fund?  In having liberals enter their church to speak during the election cycle many churches are yielding God’s truth to man’s ideology. This makes it easier for the hearer to develop a victim mentality and blame others who look different for their troubles. History is full of people, including Black men and women, who worked hard and studied in order to escape the bondage of ignorance.

What many elderly do not understand and the church does not teach is, the Democrat party is composed of liberal anti-biblical beliefs. Just as they have in times past and still today, Democrats have learned how to blame others for their behavior; the Ku Klux Klan exist today because people ignore what they see and live by what they are told to believe. The Democrats have convinced church leaders that guns are bad and have chosen to put abortion clinics in low income Black communities and do nothing about the Black on Black crime; the church leader preaches against violence while young ladies go often to kill their unborn. My point is: The problem is not White Republicans.

There are people of all colors, genders and even sexual orientations in all the political parties. As a rule Conservatives believe just as Jesus did that we all have gifts but not all the same amount, we should all be able to use our gifts each according to our ability (Matthew 25:14-30). Conservatives believe in giving people a hand up and not a hand out.  Yes there are people who need a handout but even they can do some things to help themselves.

The biggest obstacle we face as a people group is not the “isms” but prejudice. A person has to prejudge in order to assume a Spanish speaking person is Cuban. A person has to prejudge in order to assume he did not get the job based on skin pigment and not qualifications.  Scripture teaches we perish, do not succeed, because of what we do not know and not because of how we look (Hosea 4:6). To admit prejudice is the beginning of assuming personal responsibility.

Even if they don’t like you because you are poor, Black or even homosexual once you assume personal responsibility for your life man cannot stop you. Sarah Breedlove was the first wealthy Black person, we know her as Madam C. J. Walker (December 23, 1867 – May 25, 1919) she grew up in a time when many White people hated Black people yet she succeeded.  George Washington Carver (January 1864- January 5, 1943) a very educated Black man in a time when not many people of color were. (Date of death: February 20, 1895) born a slave died a free man who had traveled through out the country and abroad speaking against slavery. Hiram R. (Rhodes) Revels .(September 27, 1822-January 16, 1901 )  a teacher, minister and the first Black person to serve in the United States Senate. These four succeeded when racism, homophobia and sexism were not words in the dictionary, but prejudice of all types existed.

What really gets my goat is Christians who complain about people not letting them succeed despite the Bible declaring we do all things THROUGH CHRIST (Philippians 4:13). What angers me is these same Christians speaking against others without really knowing the people they are talking about. In developing opinions about people who do not look, speak or behave as you do then blaming them for what is wrong in your life it is my belief that the speaker is prejudice, talking out of ignorance. 

Do yourself a favor and find a church that teaches YHWH’s word from Genesis to Revelation and insist that you study your Bible.                         written by Marsha L F Randolph

Isn’t this Jesus, the little boy we used to see in Joseph’s carpenter shop? Didn’t He grow up to be a carpenter just like His father? Isn’t He the son of Mary over there and the brother of James, Joses, Judas, Simon, and their sisters? Who does He think He is?
And when they had thought about it that way, they became indignant and closed themselves to His message.

Some people will always see Jesus as a carpenter and a son of Mary, how could the child, even young adult, they knew be the Messiah?

MARK 6:4-6 THE VOICE
JESUS (seeing this): A prophet can find honor anywhere except in his hometown, among his own people, and in his own household.
He could not do any of His great works among them except with a few of the sick, whom He healed by laying His hands upon them. He was amazed by the stubbornness of their unbelief.
Jesus went out among the villages teaching,

Not everyone is going to see who you are, many will remember what you did.  In the natural Yeshua built things in the spiritual He is the Creator of man. In the natural the Apostle made shelters, in the spiritual the Apostle Paul taught us how to build and maintain our earthly temples- body and soul. We know that Matthew the fisherman became a fisher of men. Despite the opinions of others these men became who YHWH purposed for them to be.

It is hard to become who GOD wants you to be when you surround yourself with people who don’t like change.  Unfortunately, it is just as difficult to develop your gifts when your support system wants you to grow according to their wisdom and knowledge.

JAMES 1:5
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

PHILIPPIANS 4:13
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Everyone has an opinion as to how you should live your life based on their understanding of your purpose. James 1:5 says you should ask YHWH for wisdom, an understanding of how to apply what you know and understand. You can do all things through Christ not man.

In order to make the necessary changes in your life that you know are needed, I firmly believe, it is very important to follow Him not them. Everyone has an opinion of who you are and how you should act. Even if they believe in your goals / purpose they will try and tell you how to go about achieving it. If you don’t know how to do it ask GOD (James 1:5), if you don’t think you are able to do it trust the anointing, Christ, who will give you the ability.                Written by Marsha L F Randolph

There is so much crap out there to waddle through that if you are not careful you will begin to stink just as bad as everyone else! I find that if I “hang-out” with the guys for to long I begin to be just as troubled as they are. Lately, I have to remind myself that I am a Believer in Scripture and the Bible says we win!

You know it is bad when the church becomes a source of your irritation. Once upon a time the Bible was infallible to anyone and anything associated with Jesus, today many people are waking up to learn that their church is endorsing the un-biblical practice of homosexuality to the extent of ordaining individuals who publicly parade their same sex union.

When I saw a group of Black church leaders pose for a picture in support of abortion via Planned Parenthood I was about done! Everyone, most people, know that Planned Parenthood was formed to eliminate the Black race. REALLY!!!

Politically speaking I am stunned to see Democrats promote Socialism as Venezuela disintegrates! There is no Socialist country in the history of the world that has succeeded yet liberals think they can do it better. The irony of it all is that these very rich, White liberals accuse White male Republicans of having “White privilege” despite the fact that it is only rich liberals in power that survive socialism; perhaps it is because they have a way to escape.
Anyway, I have had enough! I cannot survive if I am focused on what he is saying or what she is doing. I still have to make sure I have a roof over my head and food for my belly. YES, I need to be aware of what is going on in the world but I also need to prepare for whatever happens because I can only control my vote.

And, in my ebook MOVING FORWARD BY FAITH I discussed how I overcame various obstacles. These books do not tell anyone what to do they are simple food for thought however as I look at what is happening now I see how important the philosophies presented are important in this day and time.

There is a lot of crap going on in the world today and we need to be conscious of what is happening. I hear and see the anger, the frustrations, the irritations and the despair. You cannot find the good if you are focused on the crap.

NEVER STOP DOING!

At 59 years old it is safe to say that I have lived half my life. I was an LPN for over 20 years, I have successfully raised 3 children and now I am able to do the things I enjoy. I WILL NEVER RETIRE! 

I will never retire but I will challenge myself. In addition to everything else I do I have given myself a sewing challenge! 

My next challenge will to do complete outfits! 

NO HOLIDAY AT HOLIDAY INN!

IT’S JUST MY OPINION: After a nice hot shower I finally got some rest! 

It was a mixed blessing when I received the news that my aunt had graduated from earth to eternity. After dealing with Alzheimer’s for quite a few years one day her heart stopped and she no longer had to remember what she had long sense forgotten. 

Born is Robeson County, North Carolina her memorial service was scheduled to take place on a Friday in Fairmont N.C. We: myself, my daughters and my husband, made plans to travel. Last minute airline tickets for 4 adults a teenager and a preteen would have been to expensive and the train cost just as much and is less dependable so we rented a car. Normally, when we travel to Fairmont we stay at the Embassy Suites however my daughter works at a Holiday Inn here in Miami and was able to get a discounted rate for the Holiday Inn in Lumberton, North Carolina. 

Upon arrival at the Holiday Inn at 101 Wintergreen Drive, Lumberton NC 28358,I was happy to see that a Denny’s was attached to the hotel and that my grandson could eat free! This is the best thing I can say about this hotel.

The trip from Miami to Lumberton is about a 12 hour ride, we had departed our home, 4 adults and 2 children under the age of 15, around 3 AM. Upon arrival the plan was to rest a bit and then eat dinner. My daughter, had to call housekeeping for clean sheets, she showed me the dirt spots on the linen, thus delaying her resting. (Note we had 2 rooms with a fold-away bed) When a maintenance man brought the extra towels we would need she, my daughter, learned housekeeping was not available so she went to the front desk to get a set of linen and yes, she made up her own bed! 

At some point we received a note under the door that said the gas would be temporarily shut off. Now, understand, I am from Miami and our water is heated by electricity thus I was thinking gas stove, gas heat but not hot water. The note was dated and 3/7/19 and the time indicated 4:50PM, post our check-in. I have been in situations in which the electricity was temporarily shut off but was eventually turned back on. A reasonable expectation is: I will be able to take a shower in the morning before I go to my aunts memorial service. 

We had a lovely meal at the Denny’s, the staff there was pleasant and helped me to relax. Very attentive. Apparently, while I was making sure my husband, who had done 90% of the driving, had a good meal, did not need anything and was able to relax both of my daughters had negative interactions with the front desk agent. When I questioned both of them they assured me that 1) She knew we had traveled a long distance to attend a funeral and 2) She knew our room rates were “employee” rates and 3) She knew that the daughter paying the bill was a Front Desk manager at Holiday Inn Express in Florida. Which is why my daughters conversations were escalated to a Supervisor. 

I was told that the gas would be restored by 11. We did not have hot water at 11pm and so I was hoping it would be on at 11AM, which would still be to late to shower before the funeral. Knowing that it would be a long day I awakened early Friday to do what I call an old fashioned wash tub kind of bath. I used the ice bucket to heat water in the microwave- we all did.  I was hoping the hot water would be on by the time we returned to the hotel, we left to join family around 9AM and returned around 11PM and there was still no hot water. 

I remember going to the front desk on Thursday to ask for a business card of the General Manager, I wanted to talk to him/ her later. In front of me was a man checking in, the Front Desk Agent informed the individual that there was no hot water, giving him the option of checking in or going elsewhere. I also overheard, while I was waiting, someone canceling their extended stay. 

Now, it was not the low cost that kept me at the hotel and by Friday it was not the great customer service. We remained in that hotel because we had traveled from the early hours on Thursday to that evening, would be spending all of Friday and half of Saturday with family only to get back on the road. We were trying to spend as much time with family as possible and as aggravating as it was to not have hot water changing hotels, EVEN IF IT MEANT PAYING FULL PRICE, would have taken away from the time we had to spend with family.

When a person checks into a hotel there are a few reasonable expectations.

• A secure room
• A comfortable bed
• A comfortable climate- room temperature
• Both Hot and Cold running water to properly bathe in.

Perks such as a microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot, cable television, the Internet and even a complimentary breakfast are things that will help a person decide on one hotel or another.  Some amenities are must haves for me but I do not consider hot and cold water optional. 

When a hotel fails to provide the basics the least that can happen is a staff that does not have a negative attitude with its’ guest. When my daughter, a Front Desk manager of a Holiday Inn Express, spoke with the supervisor it was revealed that she was not the first person to complain about the young ladies negative demeanor. 

Not once did we receive an apology written or otherwise from any of the staff.   I personally went to the front desk on more than one occasion for information on a variety of things including to tell them that the Coke machine took my money; I was silently handed a dollar. 

As a form of compensation my daughter, the reservations had been made in her name, was presented with vouchers for a FREE BREAKFAST at Denny’s. LOL! This is what made me go beyond irritated about the entire situation: DENNY’S HAD TO CLOSE  because the gas line had been severed/broken/ ruptured (not sure which- if there is a difference).  The hotel was being remodeled and chose to remain open during its’ construction. WHAT THE FLIP WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF THE GAS LINE HAD EXPLODED?????!!! What if there had just been a leakage? How irresponsible, how greedy for money does a franchise / corporation have to be before someone draws the line?

In the end, we were compensated for our two rooms but I will tell you I doubt if I will stay in a Holiday Inn again. As I said my daughter works in a Holiday Inn express and though there customer service is great the way the franchisee treats his employees SUCKS! 

I have stayed in 5 star hotels, I have spent the night in historic homes that the general public would not have access to, I have stayed in hotels that would barely get 1 star; generally speaking I would say Holiday Inn’s are 3 star hotels but this one because of it’s customer service and the lack of hot water is barely 1 star. Did I mention the Internet kept going in and out? 

Though I have calmed down enough to write this blog I have yet to be able to properly write to the corporation but I will.       written by Marsha L F Randolph
