ADVANCE NOTE: I will try to edit before I post but…
I am watching YouTube, a recommended channel, and 4 minutes in I had to stop and pray! As a person who believes Jesus is the only begotten Son of God the Creator of everything and the Word of God, I could not tolerate what I was hearing. (see video below). The channel is: Caldwell Apolgetics (yes, I gave him a like and subscribed) and the title of the video is: “Kamal Harris Says THIS at a Black Megachurch!” I stopped watching this as she, Harris, was getting on the stage, it’s not a pulpit, to speak because this thought is not about her it is about Black “Christians” and bondage.
I used to be a writer for an on-line newspaper that discussed the mindset of “African-Americans”; I left because I decided to not volunteer my emerging skills in exchange for limited mentorship. The concept of this newspaper / blog was simple” to many Black people have a bondage, a.k.a. slave, mentality resulting in their believing that they cannot succeed because of White people. Recently I discovered Vince Everett Ellison, he takes the mindset of bondage to another level.
If you have not viewed the movie; WILL YOU GO TO HELL FOR ME, watch it.
I struggle with writing because of my passion and the concern that many will be offended by what I write. When a person is offended the tendency is to disregard what is heard, even if it is the truth. I feel the “need” to write to Black women in particular, though I want to write to women in general and specifically Christians thus the concept of my Blog is: Sister Talk. I have come to the conclusion that there is one person I may reach thus, with this post I speak to the one.
One of the things I notice about the “Black Church” is the number of women who attend regularly. Women are passionate (emotional) and the church leader knows how to appeal to their emotions. This church leader speaks what they want to hear: “Your going to be blessed}; “Your husband is on the way”; “God sees your tears”; “God’s going to turn your mess into a message”; and so forth. In the “Black church” the women can holler, cry and dance (”holy dance”???). But at the end of the service, after giving their hard earned money they go back to the same.
I am not a history scholar, my understanding of slavery is limited. I do recall (correct me if I am wrong) that on some plantations the master would allow the slave to have free time. During this time they sang and may have shared a word from what was told of them regarding Scripture. We know they sang because the Underground Railroad used some of the songs to let the salves know when there was an opportunity to runaway. Some took advantage of the opportunity others stayed behind accepting the” roof over their head, the food that went in their belly and the opportunity to worship when he said it was OK to do so. When freedom did come, January 1 1863, some slaves remained on the plantation and began sharecropping. Sharecropping is like living in government housing today.
In these Black mega-churches and other Black Churches, I suspect, there are people from all walks of life their common denominator is their mindset. No matter what they have, how many of their needs are being met, it is not enough says the their church leader. Confirmation is because they are not as financially stable as their church leader is. Example, the church leader seen on this video, he is doing very well financially and socially. (SIDE NOTE: Does their sacrificial giving have anything to do with his success? I say yes.)
Overseers were necessary during slavery and I suspect there was someone managing the land-renters during the sharecropping times. Overseer is a biblical position. The position was perverted during the times of slavery and today there are wolves in the “pulpit”.
Acts 20:28-29 (KJV)
28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
Yes, this is an issue any many churches today, not just Black churches however, I see how the “Black church” has encouraged “Black women” to get out of order and raise Black men to be anything but children of God.
Back in the day, during times of slavery, Black women were the sexual objects of many slave owners (NOT ALL) by impregnating her himself or with one of his male slaves he could increase the number of slaves he owned for free. A woman’s body was more valuable than her soul.Today, women promote their body with clothing, hairstyles, make-up and even surgery to get a man. After reading the Bible numerous times, I read the following verse for the “first time” last year:
Isaiah 4:1 (KJV)
1 And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.
The White churches I have been a part of and watch on television are not “White” churches, the Senior Pastor may be White but the congregation is multi-cultural. The messages, sermons, are practical, they expound on what is written in the Bible based on Bible. These church leaders, the ones I listen to, teach how a Believer should live based on the Bible and these leaders are not pimping the church members so they can get more stuff. I don’t have to give a special offering to receive a blessing from God my obedience leads to blessings.
I am going to go back to watching this YouTube channel and hear what Caldwell, the producer of Caldwell Apologetics, has to say. (If you watch the video, I would like to know what you think, comment below.) I do not acknowledge the building that K. Harris visited a church, at least not one that represents God it is a psuedo (imitation)- church filled with African-Americans (Black people) mostly women, at least from what I saw. Their applause proves that they have a plantation mindset, many individuals who are familiar with their overseer, believe he is a wolf in sheep's clothing.
I pray these women and other people of color develop eyes to see and ears to hear the Truth.
I pray that Father God shows mercy and strips these wolves of their garments so that all can see who they really are. I pray for the deliverance of these leaders so that they will not spend eternity in hell.
I pray for God’s mercy over America that we we will not suffer the consequences of these individuals who kill babies, endorse same sex relationships and are anti-Israel.
I pray God help America.
