CASTING MY CARES

 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:   Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.   Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:   Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.             1 PETER 5:6-9  

There is a song that goes like this: “I went to the enemies camp and took back what he stole from me!” I loved that song but now I realize how un-biblical it is. If I believe 1 Peter 5:7, and I do, then I need to give Him my problems and He will take care of it. A better song goes like this: 

“(Now let us) have a little talk with Jesus,

(Let us) tell him all about our troubles;

(He will) hear our faintest cry,

(And He will) answer by and by;

(Now when you) feel a little pray'r wheel turning,

(Then you'll) know a little fire is burning;

(You will) find a little talk with Jesus makes it right.”

He hears me, He hears us, when all we do is cry, our Lord and Saviour hears, Therefore there is no need for me to go to Satan’s house, Satan will have to return it to me! In fact, Scripture teaches it is better to be in God’s house

PSALM 84:10 

  For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. 

        JAMES 4:7
        Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

There is another song that explains my personal resolve: I have decided to follow Jesus.

Of course I will continue to be subject to demonic attacks but as long as I am with Him no weapon formed against me will succeed. 

You must choose. You must decide who you are going to follow. The reason we need the armor of God is because Satan sends his demons to discourage the children of God, everyone else is already in his camp. I can tell you this, the closer you are to Him the less impact those attacks will have on you, often times you will not even realize you are under attack until someone points it out to you. Will you decide to really follow Jesus?
