NETTIE-ISM: IMAGINE

Your imagination is the key to your success not the opinions of well meaning friends and family. If what you imagine does not go against God’s Word then go for it!

GALATIANS 1:10
For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.

NETTIE-ISMS: NOTHINGNESS

People will try to bring you into their world of nothingness. They have nothing; they expect nothing; they get nothing. For them “It is what it is.”

1 KINGS 18:43-44
and said to his servant, “Go up now, look toward the sea.”
So he went up and looked, and said, “There is nothing.” And seven times he said, “Go again.”
Then it came to pass the seventh time, that he said, “There is a cloud, as small as a man’s hand, rising out of the sea!” So he said, “Go up, say to Ahab, ‘Prepare your chariot, and go down before the rain stops you.’

A MATTER OF FAITH: PRAYING FOR SALVATION

COMING SOON
We all have loved ones who do not have a personal relationship with God. If Jesus is not Lord of their lives at the time of their last breath they will not rest in peace when they die, no matter how many people say it, no matter how many candles are lit. Therefore, it is is important that the gift of salvation is accepted on this side of eternity.

It is unfortunate that family and friends do not follow those of us who are born again as we follow Jesus. As brothers and sisters in the Lord we should live a life that reflects His goodness and love and pray.

You may not be the one who can lead that family member or friend to the Lord but your prayers avail much.

JAMES 5:16 King James Version
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Though not everyone will respond to the call of salvation, it is the will of God that all are saved. As a believer it is important that our behavior does not become a reason why an individual is not a Christian.

We do not pray that the Lord “save” a loved one. Jesus said:

MATTHEW 9:37-38
Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

Our prayer, therefore, is for laborers; but, we too should labor and bring in the harvest of souls. As followers of Christ we have a responsibility to be communicators of His truths.

ACTS 11:26 THE EXPANDED
and when he found Saul, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year Saul and Barnabas met with the church and taught many people there. In Antioch the ·followers [disciples] were called Christians for the first time [C highlighting that they were followers of Christ, and perhaps that they were no longer viewed as merely a sect within Judaism].

If you are a follower of Christ you are a disciple thus you are to go into the world and teach other people, by your behavior as well as your words about Jesus the Savior.

It is not just friends and family that we should pray for but leaders, neighbors and even our enemies.

1 TIMOTHY 2:1-4
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

When you pray for a stranger, a friend or even a loved one remember it is not God who will “save” that person it is a laborer who will present the good news of Jesus to them.   - Marsha L F Randolph

A MATTER OF FAITH: COMMITTED

EBOOK AVAILABLE VIA SMASHWORDS

SONG OF SOLOMON 3:6-11
Who is this coming out of the wilderness like pillars of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, with all the merchant’s fragrant powders? Behold, it is Solomon’s couch, with sixty valiant men around it, of the valiant of Israel. They all hold swords, being expert in war. Every man has his sword on his thigh because of fear in the night. Of the wood of Lebanon Solomon the King made himself a palanquin:he made its pillars of silver, its support of gold, its seat of purple, its interior paved with love by the daughters of Jerusalem. Go forth, O daughters of Zion, and see King Solomon with the crown with which his mother crowned him on the day of his wedding, the day of the gladness of his heart.

Would you recognize the presence of the Lord? Do you recognize His presence in your life? The Bible speaks of the Bride Groom coming (Matthew 25:1-13). Scripture teaches that He will not come as you think He should come.

ZECHARIAH 9:9
“Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, lowly and riding on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey.
MATTHEW 21:5 THE VOICE
Tell this to Zion’s daughter, “Look—your King is approaching, seated humbly on a donkey,a young foal, a beast of burden.”

The King has come and will come again many did not recognize Him before but there will be no denying He is the King of kings when He returns.

REVELATION 21:2-3 THE VOICE
And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, prepared like a bride on her wedding day, adorned for her husband and for His eyes only. And I heard a great voice, coming from the throne.
A Voice: See, the home of God is with His people. He will live among them;
They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them.
In a traditional wedding the groom enters and waits for his bride at the alter. He is waiting for her to come to him. The bride comes down the aisle ready to commit her life to being with the groom. Thus the Believer comes to a waiting God, through Jesus.

All weddings are not in a “church” building and not eveyone makes a commitment to Christ because of an alter call. Commitment to the Lord occurs when a person sees the glory of the Lord.

SONG OF SOLOMON 3:6-11 THE VOICE
Young Women of Jerusalem: Who is this coming up from the desert, with billowing clouds of dust and smoke, with a sweet aroma of burning myrrh and frankincense, with fragrant spices fresh from the merchant?
The royal litter carries the groom to the wedding, and upon the litter is the king with his crown.
Look, it is Solomon’s litter, surrounded by 60 strong men, some of the very best soldiers in Israel, all armed swordsmen, battle-hardened heroes, experts at war, marching with swords at their sides, ready to guard the king from the terrors of the night. King Solomon built his own royal carriage        from the trees of Lebanon. He had its posts fashioned from silver, its back made of gold, its seat covered with royal purple, its interior decorated with love by the young women of Jerusalem. O go out, young women of Zion,  and see King Solomon wearing the crown with which his mother has crowned him on his wedding day, on the day his heart overflows with joy.

GOD IS.  There are benefits to being a child of God, committed to Christ. He is does not need government assitance. He is not weak and unable to protect. He is healthy and strong. GOD wants you to partake of His kingdom. If you are in Christ, as HE IS so are you.

1 JOHN 4:17
Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.

A wedding should not be taken lightly. Do not get caught up in the dress, the food or even the venue. A wedding is a public declaration of your commitment.

Often in today's churches people are not asked to come to the alter, some don’t even want you to raise your hand; the call to follow Jesus is minimized so as not to cause embarrassment. Jesus was not ashamed or embarrassed, he allowed Himself to be beaten, humiliated, tortured and disrespected for you (Isaiah 53:4-6).

MATTHEW 10:33
But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.
HEBREWS 4:16
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
A commitment to Christ is more than raising your hand, filling out a form or even walking to the alter. When the opportunity arises, like now, for you to present yourself to the King you must be willing to submit fully to His Word.

Those who do not know Him, see Jesus as a man walking around in a dress, teaching life principles and giving motivational speaches. HE is:  Jehovah-Tsidkenu, the Lord our Righteousness; Jehovah-Nissi, the Lord our Banner;  Jehovah-Jireh, the Lord our Provider; Jehovah-Rophe, the Lord our Healear; Jehovah-M’Kaddesh, the Lord who Sanctifies; He is all this and more. When a person you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord you are saved from an eternity away from Father God. Your blessings here on earth are contingetn on your obedience, commitment, to His word.

SONG OF SOLOMON 3:11
Go forth, O daughters of Zion, and see King Solomon with the crown with which his mother crowned him on the day of his wedding, the day of the gladness of his heart.

NPA: WHEN HATE IS EMPOWERED

I know many people refer to the liberal news outlets as “fake” news however I think a more appropriate term is “Hate News”. Twenty-four hours a day seven days a week various news outlets present reasons why one group of people should hate another.

I find it interesting that the media will condemn Christian business owners for standing on their faith while ignoring Muslims who do the same. Remember the bakery who did not want to do a same-sex wedding cake? They were considered homophobic. Hobby Lobby was considered anti-woman because of its’ refusal to get insurance that paid for abortions and more recently someone accused them of being racist because of its’ cotton display. We do not see this same judgemental behavior towards Islam, a growing organization which incorporates faight and government.

In countries in which Islam plays a role in the government homosexuals are persecuted, not prosecuted. A woman would not have an abortion in some Islamic countries because she would be killed if she had sex outside of marriage. There are pockets of Islamic communities in America in which Sharia law is enforced and ignored by the government.

It is not to the anti-Christ mindset of the hateful news organizations to point out Islamic terroism, or white on white crime, or black on black crime, or black on white crime.

Repeatedly, many Conservative news outlets share information that proves that Law Enforcement Officers are not racist. Statistically more non-Black people are killed by police than Black. The media does not report this because it does not feed into their narrative of hate.

Many of todays news and information outlets have gone beyond hypocrisy to degnererate. The media will tell the world that a 16 year old is to young to be tried as an adult because he or she does not understand the depths of his actions. Yet, this same media promotes the idea that an 8 year old knows that ‘he’ should live as ‘she’ or ‘she’ should live as a ‘he’. Those who disagree with the ideology presented are declared full of hate; the oppossite is true.

Positive news does not make as much money as sensational news. Blood and gore make money; love, peace and happiness don’t make money. How sad it is to see so many people accept the false teachings of information personalities.

The media takes great pride in slamming President Trump and feels justified in not investigating former President Obama or Secretary of State Hillary R. Clinton.  Telling the world that the President of the United States tweets, a man who does not drink or smoke, is “un-Presidential” but ignored a President who was intimate with a woman (women) who was not his wife while working. The media not only ignored the fact that the Secretary of State and the President allowed men to die a tortuous death they also assited in covering up all pertinent information related to the incident.

The media wants the world to hate the leader of America, President Donald J. Trump, because he wants to put American citizens to be first and not the polticians and other personalities who profit from the ignorance of the people.

Unfortunately,we are in a self-centered era in which people want to feel good regardless of who it hurts. It is easy for young people, who do not know the history of this nation and do not have a biblical foundation, to accept what entertainment, information, and political personalities say. Older individuals use these same outlets to  justify their personal agenda of making more money.  It is this attitude of self that allows gangs and radical religions to strengthen.

The truth is often ugly. Slavery is an ugly truth in American history.  Watergate is a shameful ugly truth in American history. Benghazi is a horrible truth in American history. Child sex trading is anegregious truth in America. Abortion, murder and homosexulaty are sinful truths. We should not deny these truths but we should learn fromt hem and sin no more.

The news is “fake” because it does not tell the entire story. The news is “hate” because in telling part of the story it presents just enough information to make one particular group of people angry at another. The news is bad because it does no good. The news is empowered because polticians use these sources to stir up their voter base.   — written by Marsha L F Randolph

A MATTER OF FAITH: WHERE IS GOD?

SONG OF SOLOMON 3:1-3
By night on my bed I sought the one I love; I sought him, but I did not find him. “I will rise now,” I said, “And go about the city; in the streets and in the squares I will seek the one I love.” I sought him, but I did not find him.  The watchmen who go about the city found me; I said, “Have you seen the one I love?”

Where is God? We are told to: “Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near.” (Isaiah 55:6) But God is not the one who is lost. The question should be: “Where am I?”

PSALM 139 THE VOICE
1 O Eternal One, You have explored my heart and know exactly who I am;
2 You even know the small details like when I take a seat and when I stand up again.   Even when I am far away, You know what I’m thinking.
3 You observe my wanderings and my sleeping, my waking and my dreaming,  and You know everything I do in more detail than even I know.
4 You know what I’m going to say long before I say it.  It is true, Eternal One, that You know everything and everyone.
5 You have surrounded me on every side, behind me and before me,  and You have placed Your hand gently on my shoulder.
6 It is the most amazing feeling to know how deeply You know me, inside and out;  the realization of it is so great that I cannot comprehend it.
7 Can I go anywhere apart from Your Spirit?  Is there anywhere I can go to escape Your watchful presence?
8 If I go up into heaven, You are there.  If I make my bed in the realm of the dead, You are there.
9 If I ride on the wings of morning,  if I make my home in the most isolated part of the ocean,
10 Even then You will be there to guide me; Your right hand will embrace me, for You are always there.
11 Even if I am afraid and think to myself, “There is no doubt that the darkness will swallow me,  the light around me will soon be turned to night,”
12 You can see in the dark, for it is not dark to Your eyes. For You the night is just as bright as the day.
Darkness and light are the same to Your eyes.
13 For You shaped me, inside and out.  You knitted me together in my mother’s womb long before I took my first breath.
14 I will offer You my grateful heart, for I am Your unique creation, filled with wonder and awe. You have approached even the smallest details with excellence;  Your works are wonderful;  carry this knowledge deep within my soul.
15  You see all things; nothing about me was hidden from You as I took shape in secret,
carefully crafted in the heart of the earth before I was born from its womb.
16 You see all things; You saw me growing, changing in my mother’s womb;
Every detail of my life was already written in Your book; You established the length of my life before I ever tasted the sweetness of it.
17 Your thoughts and plans are treasures to me, O God! I cherish each and every one of them! How grand in scope! How many in number!
18 If I could count each one of them, they would be more than all the grains of sand on earth. Their number is inconceivable! Even when I wake up, I am still near to You.
19 I wish You would destroy all the wicked, O God. So keep away from me, those who are thirsty for blood!
20 For they say such horrible things about You, and those who are against You abuse Your good name.
21 Is it not true that I hate all who hate You, Eternal One?  Is it not true that I despise all who come against You?
22 Deep hatred boils within me toward them;  I am Your friend, and they are my enemies.
23 Explore me, O God, and know the real me. Dig deeply and discover who I am.  Put me to the test and watch how I handle the strain.
24 Examine me to see if there is an evil bone in me, and guide me down Your path forever.

In this worship Psalm written by David he reminds the listener: God knows everything there is to know about each and every one of us. God is omni-present and omniscient.

Where do you find God? In church? At a night club? On the streets? At Bible study or at a friends house? WHERE IS GOD?

JAMES 4:8
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

JAMES 4:8 THE EXPANDED
Come near to God, and God will come near to you. You sinners, ·clean sin out of your lives [L- cleanse/purify your hands; C- a metaphor for cleaning up your behavior]. ·You who are trying to follow God and the world at the same time [L- You double-minded ones], ·make your thinking pure [L- purify your hearts; C- a metaphor for cleaning up your interior life].

NOTE: I am including the New King James and the Expanded translations of this verse for a better study.

God is ever present in the Believer’s life; it is how a person thinks that prevents an awareness of His presence. God is a spirit which means fleshly thougths and ideas are irrelevant.

ISAIAH 55:8-9
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.”

We are created in His image (Genesis 1:27) which makes us spiritual beings contained in flesh.

1 CORINTHIANS 2:9-12
But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”[Isaiah 64:4]
But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.

When we enter into the new birth we develop an awareness of His presence that increases with maturity. To be “born again” simply means we have expereinced the second birth, a spiritual awakening; the first birth being the external birth out of the womb.

COLOSSIANS 3:10
and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,

GALATIANS 5:16
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

The Shulamite woman in the Songs sought after the king. It was a personal decision; she did not care what people thought.

SONG OF SOLOMON 3:3-5
The watchmen who go about the city found me; I said, “Have you seen the one I love?”  Scarcely had I passed by them, when I found the one I love.
I held him and would not let him go, until I had brought him to the house of my mother, and into the chamber of her who conceived me.
I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the gazelles or by the does of the field, do not stir up nor awaken love until it pleases.

In pursuit of a personal relationship with God you have to be willing to ignore the opinions of people, including religious status quo, and go after Him.  Remember the story of the woman with the issue of blood who had spent all of her money on doctors? (Mark 5:25-34) She risked being stoned to death to seek Jesus. She had to be pretty close to the ground, crawling perhaps, because all she did was touch the hem of His garment. It is also your responsibility to maintain that relationship.

ROMANS 12:1-2
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

A MATTER OF FAITH: LOVE SICK FOR JESUS - SONG OF SOLOMON Chapter 2

SONG OF SOLOMON 2:4
He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.

To experience the love of God is incomparable because He is love and without Him love could not exist. When we accept Jesus as the only begotten Son of Creator God and allow Him to be Lord of our life He brings us into the Kingdom of God- the “banqueting house”. Existing in the kingdom becomes the banner in which believers walk in.

JOHN 14:16, 26
And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
Love is a value and it is valuable.  Love is the greatest value that can be placed upon anyone. God wraps us in His love.

JOHN 15:9-10 THE VOICE
I have loved you as the Father has loved Me. Abide in My love. Follow My example in obeying the Father’s commandments and receiving His love. If you obey My commandments, you will stay in My love.

This is where we should want to be, as clse to Him as possible. We should abide, maintain contact, with our Father in heaven through our Lord Jesus with the help of the Spirit of God.

SONG OF SOLOMON 2:5-7
Sustain me with cakes of raisins, refresh me with apples, for I am lovesick. His left hand is under my head, and his right hand embraces me. I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the gazelles or by the does of the field, do not stir up nor awaken love until it pleases.

We should be lovesick for Jesus! Our desire for Him should be greater than our desire for food or people.

PSALM 84:10
For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
PSALM 16:11
You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

It takes time to develop a relationship but God wants one with you.

JOHN 3:16-17
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

The King of kings came to earth. He came that you might have life and more abundantly (John 10:10).

SONG OF SOLOMON 2:8-17
The Shulamite
The voice of my beloved! Behold, he comes leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills. My beloved is like a gazelle or a young stag. Behold, he stands behind our wall; he is looking through the windows, gazing through the lattice.
My beloved spoke, and said to me: “Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. For lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth; the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. The fig tree puts forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grapes give a good smell. Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away!
“O my dove, in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the cliff, let me see your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely.”
Her Brothers
Catch us the foxes, the little foxes that spoil the vines, for our vines have tender grapes.
The Shulamite
My beloved is mine, and I am his. He feeds his flock among the lilies.
(To Her Beloved)
Until the day breaks and the shadows flee away, turn, my beloved, and be like a gazelle or a young stag upon the mountains of Bether.
It is not enough to go to the alter and recite words. A marriage is more than a white dress and a tuxedo; being born again is more than telling people “I am saved”. It is a never ending commitment that begins from within and manifest in words and deeds.

EPHESIANS 5:25-27 THE VOICE
Husbands, you must love your wives so deeply, purely, and sacrificially that we can understand it only when we compare it to the love the Anointed One has for His bride, the church. We know He gave Himself up completely to make her His own, washing her clean of all her impurity with water and the powerful presence of His word.  He has given Himself so that He can present the church as His radiant bride, unstained, unwrinkled, and unblemished—completely free from all impurity—holy and innocent before Him.

You have to be passionate for Jesus because He is passionate for you.

Song of Solomon is about God’s commitment to His children; it is both public and private. The question is: What type of relationship do you have with Him?

SONG OF SOLOMON 2:4 THE VOICE
He placed me at his banquet table, for everyone to see that his banner over me declares his love.

NO POLITICAL AFFILIATION: WHAT I BELIEVE- DONNA BRAZILE

Liberals have encouraged Black Lives Matter, they supported African-American athletes taking a knee to the National Anthem. Liberals even awarded the family members of criminals who felt mistreated by law enforcement officers. As a result of this ideology they have committed themselves to an ideology that they really do not believe.

Remember: the Democrat party is the party of prejudice people. It is Democrats, the home of liberalism, that founded the Ku-Klux-Klan, voted against the Civil Rights Amendment, and support Planned Parenthood (an organization founded to get rid of Black babies).

Donna Brazile admitted that Hillary Clinton controlled the DNC and rigged the election so that Bernie Sanders would not get the nomination. Many people in Social Media believe that Donna Brazile’s life is now in danger. But what can Liberals or the Clintons do?

As a Black woman, Ms. Brazile represents proof that Liberals support Black people. For any harm to come to her would anger the very people they empowered to be destructive. What would happen if the one who accused Hillary Clinton of trying to steal an election suddenly committed suicide? Or died from a disease that she suddenly had for a long time?

Will Barak Obama support Hillary? I suspect he, as he does often, will remain silent. (Golfing anyone.) I do not believe Hillary has the ability to go silently, and like his predecessor  Bill Clinton will also keep quiet making only a few token comments. Even Chelsea has to keep quiet, I don’t think she knows how to make money. Hilary Clinton is on her own and, I suspect, Russia holds the keys to her future.

What Donna Brazile did was confirm what we already knew. She is selling books and it will be a best seller. Because she is a Black Female speaking out against Hillary would not be an issue had the Liberals not shouted racism so much.

I believe the Democrat party is reaping what they sowed and it is not over yet.    - written by Marsha L F Randolph

A MATTER OF FAITH: THE KING'S PERSPECTIVE

SONG OF SOLOMON

SONG OF SOLOMON 2:1
I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.

I have heard people declare: “He is the rose of Sharon and the lily of the valley but that is not what this verse declares. The woman is speaking and she is saying that she is nothing special, but God sees His children differently.

SONG OF SOLOMON 2:2
Like a lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.

He sees the church as unique.

2 CORINTHIANS 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

When you accept Jesus as Lord and allow Him to be Lord of your life you become a new creature; you are born again. No longer focused on the flesh you are able to live according to the spirit within.

GALATIANS 5:16

God sees you as a lily among thorns. What is important is that you begin to see yourself in the same way.                                   - written by Marsha L F Randolph
