WRITING THE WORD PART 5 THE PSALMS

My goal in writing the Psalms, which I started Thursday July 17, 2025, is to meditate on each Psalm. When I read the Bible in chronological order it gave me a better understanding of the contest in which each Psalm was written.

I decided, in order to slow the pace of writing each Psalm, I would continue writing other books in the Bible, separate journals of course. In addition to the Psalm 1 started Jude. I am not trying to memorize the Word of God but to internalize the Word.

Psalm 119:11 (KJV)
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Like Psalm 119:11; I though the verse but I could not tell you where it was. I used my WordSearch program to find the verse. God’s word is hidden in my heart.

Deuteronomy 30:14 (KJV)
But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.

This verse, Deuteronomy 30:14, I vaguely remember but it too is not established in my memory. Truth be told, I don’t have Psalm 23 memorized and most Baptist that I know have memorized it. However, I have been known to speak to people and Scripture flows out of my mouth naturally.

I speak King James Bible and reading other translations, because it is a different version of the same verse, makes it difficult to cite book chapter and verse if I begin quoting Scripture. Perhaps writing will help me remember which book of the Bible a verse is located, even if it is not chapter and verse.
