DON'T GET IMPATIENT WITH GOD

FAITH MATTERS  written by Marsha L F Randolph
There are times in which we see things so clearly and pray as if God will automatically agree with us. We think God will say yes to our prayer request and do things as we have asked. We wait and wait and see nothing, there is no manifestation of what we prayed for.

The word states that His word will not return to Him void. When we pray we should be praying using His words in context. In praying according to what is written God’s words are returning to Him having done what it was supposed to do.

ISAIAH 55:11
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

God’s word will accomplish what He has pleased which is why it is important to know His will.

ISAIAH 55:8-9
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways,
and My thoughts than your thoughts.

If we are indeed asking for God’s wisdom and help in our lives according to His way we can be assured that we will get it.

MATTHEW 7:7-8
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

Jesus said it will be given to you He did not say when.

GALATIANS 6:9
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

We know that God is not a magician declaring “abracadabra” with every prayer request. There is a process involved in answering a prayer. Be it 3 seconds or 3 years we must trust God to give us what we ask at the right time.

Ecclesiastes 3:1
To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven:

It can be frustrating waiting. We want our circumstances to change instantly but it took time to get where we are.

For example: If I wanted a loaf of bread I can either purchase a loaf from the store or make a loaf.  Home made bread is always better than store bought. If I want quality I will opt to make my own, which I do, but it takes time.

No matter what you are praying for the ingredients must be in place. There is a process, God’s way, in which your prayer will be answered. God will not be rushed.

While you wait remind yourself of what He said, not what you or someone else thinks.

As I have written in my book BEFORE YOU PRAY FOR ME, God does not say “No”. God sends His word and it returns to Him; man’s words do not reach the heart of God.

So what should you do while you wait? Thank Him for giving you what you asked.

MARK 11:24
Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
