ROMANS 8:28-29
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
I discovered, in my faith journey, that I knew how to walk in the spirit.
ROMANS 8:5
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
My prayers were private but purposeful. I did not have a need to pray for family specifically and I did not know what the Lord wanted me to interceed for. But, as the days progressed I saw things, in the spirit, and I prayed for and against what I saw.
Next the Lord had me share good news on Facebook for 30 days. Interestingly enough I was also doing a Bible Study from Philippians 4:8-9 which lasted 6 weeks. Positing positive news the Bible is not hard if you use the Bible as your reference. However, I discovered just because a media story presented itself as good it was not necessarily positive; what the world says is good is not always good.
1 CORINTHIANS 3:18-20 King James Version
Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.
Many of the headlines were good but the actual words within the article revealed an agenda that did not agree with God’s word. There are lots of Christian sites that promote positive stories of faith however I was looking for positive stories of living in this world. I did resort to sharing Scripture, particularly towards the end when the fires inthe west and Hurricane Harvey and Irma impacted the country. There is no better news than the gospel which is why Philippians was an important study.
PHILIPPIANS 4:8-9
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.
With God nothing happens by accident or coincidence thus: praying, posting and studying Philippians were all necessary for me and those who read what was publicly shared. Prayer adjusted my vision; post opened the lines of communication as the Lord directed me and I released to the people; and for those who read the Bible study, it prepared their hearts for what is to be next.
I will begin a study on the Song of Solomon. I think Song of Solomon is the sexiest book in the Bible. I know of 2 thoughts regarding how to interpret the writings: It is a relationship between a man and a woman and it discusses the intimate relationship the Lord has with the Believer. Since I have already started my study I can tell you that there is more to the book.
This is a Bible Study, what is different is the simul-post I will be doing between Facebook and my blog. This may not be new to others who share the gospel but it is new for me. I will be using Thomas Nelson’s THE KING JAMES STUDY BIBLE - Full Color Edition, 2017, as my primary Bible. I may from time to time use the NKJV, the VOICE, the NIV or the EXPANDED Bible as reference. I am anticipating this will be a long study, about 3 months.
I am encouraging comments on both Facebook and on the blog I ask that your words be respectful. PLEASE do not post your own Bible study, comments of 500 words or more. If you have that much to say create your own blog or write it on your own Facebook feed.
ROMANS 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
