The Bible is not for unbelievers it is for Believers. Your sin is not revealed in Scripture Scripture reveals your sin.
A church may preach about sin using the Bible to back up the message. A church should teach the Word of God which will reveal to the hearer their sins. A message about stealing will declare “thou shalt not steal” whereas: a message about God’s love will lead a person to not want to steal.
An unbeliever will not steal because he does not have to not because the Bible says: “Thou shalt not.” God’s word reveals to the Believer how much He loves His children (John 3:16), in seeing His love we see our imperfections. Oh how I need Jesus who washes away my sins!
