YOU SEE MY FAITH- NOW SHOW ME YOURS

MY JOURNEY- August 21, 2018 I will not allow myself to get upset when I know that I am a child of God the Creator of all things.

I was doing some work in my garden thinking, as I often do and a thought about opinions people have about me. They often get irritated that I am not stressed out or angry. How do I explain to “Christians” that God gives me peace?

JAMES 2:14-18
What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.

I have not attended church in months, I have not given to the church I affiliate with in weeks yet I am not struggling as many “active Christians” are.

The things that should trouble me don’t because in a worst case scenario I know that God will guide me. That is my faith.

If my friend is naked I will give them something from my closet. If my friend is hungry I will share the contents of my kitchen. I don’t have excess but such as I have I am willing to share because I know that when I was in need my God provided and he will do it again if need be.

Once upon a time I gave to the church and expected them to give to the people. I also tried serving in the church and waiting for the church to tell me how to serve others. None of these actions were a demonstration of my faith, it was dead works.
