A-LA-CARTE' FAITH

MY JOURNEY: December 2, 2018 It irritates me when people pick and choose who is and is not a Christian!

Yesterday, I was really irritated because people were making nasty comments about President Trump on a news feed that honored the late President Bush. The amount of vitriol that is released on Social Media and on the streets is beyond toxic. What is worst, many of these people consider themselves Christian and that is what irritates me.

I also had a few social media conversations with Christians who were adamant about who was not a Believer. It is not that they are wrong but that they were so condemning. AND, in one instance the opinion was based on what was heard not what was personally known. In the other instance the individual made a comment as if people could not change. The moment one person sited a Scripture to justify the position I instantly knew the true context of Yeshua’s words
GALATIANS 6:7
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
Once upon a time I interpreted this verse the same as the individual sharing it with me did. People knew the word and was challenging GOD. Nope! That is not it.

In context this verse is about giving. The word declares we are blessed to be a blessing (Genesis 12:2) when we are blessed and then keep the blessing to ourselves it is as if we are ‘mocking’ YHWH.
GALATIANS 6:6-10 THE COMPLETE JEWISH BIBLE
But whoever is being instructed in the Word should share all the good things he has with his instructor. Don’t delude yourselves: no one makes a fool of God! A person reaps what he sows. Those who keep sowing in the field of their old nature, in order to meet its demands, will eventually reap ruin; but those who keep sowing in the field of the Spirit will reap from the Spirit everlasting life. So let us not grow weary of doing what is good; for if we don’t give up, we will in due time reap the harvest. Therefore, as the opportunity arises, let us do what is good to everyone, and especially to the family of those who are trustingly faithful.
Many individuals accept some biblical truths while rejecting others.  Many beliefs people are based on traditions or misinterpretation. YHWH’s laws and commandments are absolutes and are not meant to be re-interpreted, clarification was presented in the new covenant because YESHUA paid the bill, so to speak. People take from Scripture what is relevant to their ideology.

To some extent we all practice an a-la-carte’ faith. For me it is about learning something and applying it to my life before I go back and learn something else. What I don’t do is condemn those who do not agree with me.

I believe what I believe and I believe I am correct. Are you going to spend eternity away from YHWH if you do not agree with me? How would I know!
PHILIPPIANS 2:12-13
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
As long as we are on this earth we will be learning, at least we should be. The problem I have with comments on Social Media is that there are so many people who are not sure reading what is written. Negative comments convince atheist not to follow Yeshua, and those who want to follow Him that they are not good enough to do so. Yesterday, I apologized to a “Christian”  because my words offended her yet she rejected my apology because I had a position different than hers.
For some people a-la-carte’ faith is not a good thing because they don’t go back and get more.
