One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind.
I have decided to make Saturday my day of rest, my Sabbath. Sunday is the indisputable first day of the week thus Saturday is the seventh day. We know that Elohim ceased His work on the 7th day, man decided to change the day of rest to Sunday. If others want to make Sunday their “Sabbath” day then so be it.

By the seventh day Elohim had finished the work he had been doing. On the seventh day he stopped the work he had been doing. Then Elohim blessed the seventh day and set it apart as holy, because on that day he stopped all his work of creation.
Despite my declaration of behavior, my problem is: I am not really resting- ceasing from my work!
I am busy every day! On the seventh day, Saturday, I have stuff to do, many unfinished projects. When Saturday was my “catch-up” day I had no problem ‘resting’ on Sunday, the day everyone else did nothing but go to church and eat. (Or did they?)

But first, be concerned about his kingdom and what has his approval. Then all these things will be provided for you.
What is more important than spending time with YHWH? Who is more important than YHWH? Nothing and no one, therefore, I need to learn to cease from my work and redirect my attention to Him.
Resting is not sleeping, doing nothing for an entire day. Resting is redirecting your attention from your works to His finished work.

for Good News has also been proclaimed to us, just as it was to them. But the message they heard didn’t do them any good, because those who heard it did not combine it with trust. For it is we who have trusted who enter the rest. It is just as he said, “And in my anger, I swore that they would not enter my rest.” He swore this even though his works have been in existence since the founding of the universe.
It is important that we cease from our labors and rest in His presence so that we can remember who we are in Him.
If you cannot rest, how can you fast?
