| CHRISTIANS ARE NOT PERFECT THEY ARE PERFECTED |
MY JOURNEY: December 2, 2018 #2
I am non-religi-logical! LOL! But seriously- I just can’t do this identity politics / identity faith thing that people seem to be PHIdoing.
I have been studying what it means to be a Christian for decades and the road has lead me to a study on Hebraic Roots. BUT! In studying Hebraic roots this ‘movement’ has its’ nuances. So how do I identify myself?????
I AM A CHILD OF GOD SAVED
BY THE GRACE OF YHWH.
PHILIPPIANS 2:12-13According to the Apostle Paul in his letter to the Philippians I must work out my own salvation. That means that I must work things out myself. Yes, I can have help in understanding things but I must assume personal responsibility for my relationship with YHWH.
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
MATTHEW 7:21-23
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
I think of all the men and women out there who are doing great things for the kingdom. I have books written by them; I have given to their ministry’ I have sat in the church they lead. It would stand to reason, be logical to conclude, that these people would spend eternity with ABBA.
COLOSSIANS 2:20-23
Therefore, if you died with Christ from the basic principles of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to regulations— “Do not touch, do not taste, do not handle,” which all concern things which perish with the using—according to the commandments and doctrines of men? These things indeed have an appearance of wisdom in self-imposed religion, false humility, and neglect of the body, but are of no value against the indulgence of the flesh.
I have discovered, even non-denominational churches have “things” they expect their church members to do. Part of their religion is to be non-religious! Every religion has regulations but these regulations cannot get you into heaven or keep you out of hell.
Are religions illogical? Or, is it logical to be religious? Seriously what is a person coming into the faith supposed to do? In writing my post “A-LA-CARTE’ FAITH” I concluded that we all pick and choose what we are going to absorb when it comes to what we believe. Think about the different types of Baptist congregations there are. I don’t think having a faith is illogical but I do think it is illogical to be so religious that you neglect your relationship with GOD. That is why I have declared myself to be anti-religi-logical.
RELIGI-LOGICAL defined:
1) To base ones’ belief solely on the teachings of a particular religion without personally researching through reading Scripture and praying with the help of the Spirit of YHWH
2) To have a foundation of faith based on man’s words and not the Word of YHWH
NOTE: Though the matter discussed is a serious one I did have fun with this study. YHWH gave us laughter often I laugh in His presence because in His presence is fullness of joy. (Psalm 16:11)
